The main goal of the game is to gain tokens by collecting coins inside the ring. To enter the ring, the player chooses the wurm's worth in coins, its size (which are correlated), and its appearance. The player then deposits the corresponding amount of tokens, which is calculated based on the selected token factor. As the wurm collects coins inside the ring, it grows in size, and its value in coins and tokens increases accordingly. After exiting the ring properly, the amount of tokens equivalent to the collected worth is withdrawn back.
Several hundreds of players are competing with each other simultaneously inside one ring for coins and for the right to exit taking gathered worth.
The coins are of different types. Every coin type has assigned value. Its value in tokens is based on token factor.
The values in tokens shown below are valid only for current token factor (xx).
A wurm moves at a constant speed and cannot be stopped. It can be accelerated to get somewhere faster or to outrun another wurm, but acceleration is not free — when activated, the wurm will periodically drop coins.
The collision of two wurms leads to termination of one of them. The survivor is the one whose head point is farther away from the collision point. Some terminated wurm's coins are dropped in place and rest is distributed in the ring. The winner of the collision receives the frag point.
Frag points allow to use an escape beam to exit the ring with gathered worth and also multiply it on exit. If the player possesses enough frag points, the escape beam can be used by his wurm and if there are even more, the worth multiplier is activated and the more frags the player has, the higher its value.
Self collision will trim the wurm's body from the collision point to the tail. The amount of coins proportional to trimmed size will be dropped in place and/or distributed in the ring. If the remaining part of the wurm is too small, the wurm will be terminated.
The fence keeps all game objects inside the ring, and nothing can pass through it. If a wurm touches the fence, it will be instantly terminated. Next to the fence, there is a harm zone, which does not tolerate any objects inside it. If a coin is dropped in the harm zone, it will not appear in place, but somewhere in the ring. If a wurm enters the harm zone, it will be safe for a while, but then it will be constantly struck by lightning, will constantly lose worth, and will be terminated after reaching minimum worth value. In order for the lightning strikes to stop, the wurm must completely leave the harm zone.
Termination of the wurm means the end of the game for the player and loosing all wurm's worth. If the game is interrupted by any accidental reason, the initial amount of tokens, or the amount of tokens based on current wurm's worth if less, will be returned within 72 hours.
Escape beam is one of two ways to exit the ring with accumulated worth. The wurm that has enough frag points can do so by simply touching it. But if there are not enough frag points, collision with the escape beam will result in the wurm's termination. Also, there is a harm zone surrounding the beam and the wurm should not linger in it because after a while it will be struck by lightning, just like in the harm zone near the fence. The escape beam has a limited lifetime. During this time, its thickness and color change, and the harm zone around it grows in diameter, swallowing nearby objects. When the beam expires, it will disappear and a new beam will appear somewhere else in the ring. At any given time, there are two beams in one ring.
Reaching maximum worth is the second way to successfully leave the ring. When the wurm reaches the maximum worth (-1e42), it will instantly leave the ring without any additional actions.
Modifiers are kind of in-ring objects that give the wurm additional abilities. They can be obtained at the start, if the starting worth is sufficient, or they can be taken in the ring during the game, after being left by terminated wurms. There are four types of modifiers:
Free Speed
If the wurm has this modifier, it will not lose coins during acceleration.
Loot Magnet Amplifier
A wurm with this modifier will attract coins and modifiers that are much further away than without it.
Harm Shield
This modifier allows the wurm to avoid harm from lightnings.
Partial Respawn
With this modifier, if the wurm is terminated, it is spawned elsewhere in the ring with the worth of this modifier and can continue the game.
To have this modifier, the wurm's worth must be greater than or equal to it's worth.
Controls
Movement direction
The wurm's movement direction is determined by the mouse/touch pointer position within the viewport area.
Mouse: To set the wurm's direction, simply move the pointer inside the viewport — the wurm will follow it.
Touch: Press (and move) anywhere in the viewport except Free Speed and Loot Magnet Amplifier modifiers' pictograms — this will set the pointer and the wurm will follow it.
Acceleration
Mouse: Press down (and hold) the left mouse button to activate acceleration, release it to deactivate.
Touch: Press (and hold) the Free Speed modifier's pictogram to activate acceleration, release it to deactivate.
Note: it can be done with setting movement direction simultaneously.
Activate Loot Magnet Amplifier
Keyboard: Press down (and hold) Z key to activate Loot Magnet Amplifier, release it to deactivate.
Touch: Press (and hold) the Loot Magnet Amplifier modifier's pictogram to activate it, release it to deactivate.
Note: it can be done with setting movement direction simultaneously.
